There is so much to do close to your Las Vegas home. Within 45 minute drive from Downtown Las Vegas is a 400 acre 860 ft vertical drop Lee Canyon Ski resort. It has 24 runs and has plans to grow to 50 slopes by 2018. Season pass are available as well as day lift passes and lessons.
To the North is Brian Head Resort in Utah. This is a popular destination for Las Vegas locals because it is a short 3 hour drive to the slopes.It gets more than 360 inches of snow a year and is Utah’s highest base elevation at 9600 ft. With 71 runs and a vertical drop of 1320 ft , make this a favorite weekend spot. Remember to book lodging accommodations in advance and ask about Ski school .
Further north to Salt Lake City Utah favorite is the sking Mecca of the Southwest. From Park City Mountain Resort featuring 300 trails and ski in ski out lodges, to Snowbird featuring 26 double black diamond runs for the experts. Do not miss out on Sundance at the base of 12000 foot Mount Timpanogos.
If you prefer to go to Central California, Mammoth Mountain Ski area is only 5 hours from Las Vegas.They have 150 runs and 20 miles of wooded snowshoeing and cross country trails.
Big Bear Mountain Resort is also a of Las Vegas residents . It is a short 4 hour drive to the resort.They offer 59 runs on the two mountains. You only need one lift ticket to work interchangeably. A real treat is the night sking and snowboarding under the stars
